When I left school in 1989 I began to work for a specialist staircase manufacturer and completed an advanced City and Guilds in Joinery. I later moved to Bakers of Danbury, a firm which specialises in Church restoration and Listed Building work. At Bakers I worked on furniture, windows and doors for many exclusive buildings. In the run-up to the millennium the firm was inundated with orders for village signs, and I carved many designs on these signs, some of which can be seen at Tendering, Earls Colne, Fingringhoe and Cold Norton. I also made the St. Andrew’s Memorial Cross at Layer de la Haye. My next move was to a firm specialising in Old English furniture, where I assisted in the construction of a variety of work, including: four poster beds, library rooms and extremely high class traditionally-made kitchens. All the work was bespoke and to the highest possible standard. I was one of three who constructed the library shown; it took 18 months to complete. In 2004 I decided the time had come to branch out on my own, combining my passion for quality with my hobby of automotive restoration, and Interior Motive was born. Using the wealth of experience that I have gained from my previous work, I aim to provide high quality, professional workmanship. Because I personally construct each interior in my workshop using traditional methods I can offer a unique bespoke service, designing every interior to satisfy each client’s individual wishes and needs. This individual service means that I can either construct an interior around a brand-new design, or I can recreate the simplicity of existing camper interiors to a high quality. I can also make individual cabinets to fit your existing interior. All interiors are individually crafted to your specifications and most take several weeks to complete, so please contact me to discuss your requirements. |
